Yes - you may still manually lodge applications if you choose.

Will it cost me anything to use VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub?

No - there are no additional costs associated with accessing or using VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub. Lodgement and warrant fees are the same for applications lodged manually or via VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub.

What sort of software and Internet PC do I need to use for VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub?

We recommend a Pentium PC or equivalent capable of running Web browser software (Netscape 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or later). Users must also have Internet access setup on their PC via an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Do I have to enter an agreement with VCAT before using VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub?

Yes - the agreement sets out the terms and conditions for the use of VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub and each party's roles and responsibilities.

Why do I have to open a bank account to use VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub?

As part of the agreement with VCAT, it is necessary to nominate a bank account from which to debit application fees. This, we believe, is currently the most secure way to conduct financial transactions while using VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub.

Do I have to open a separate bank account?

We recommend that a separate account be opened to allow easy reconciliation.

Is my data secure?

Yes - all data transmitted via VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub is encrypted within a secure session using a 128 bit security key. This is indicated by the padlock icon displayed at the bottom of the browser window.

Can anyone else see my data?

No - each registered user is issued with a unique User ID and Password ('login'). Only Notices and Applications generated using that same login may be viewed.

What happens if I forget my password?

Simply contact VCAT for the password to be reset.

Should I change my password if an employee leaves my organisation?

Yes - this option is available to you at all times while using VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub.

How will I know what fees have been taken out of my account?

You can produce a fee statement through VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub at any time. This will show lodgement and warrant charges for up to the previous 90 days.

My organisation has several offices for which I am responsible. Can I nominate just one bank account and see all the transactions for each office?

Yes - we can set this option for you when we establish your account. Using this option you may also view the Notices and Applications submitted by your other offices.

What will happen if my application is not automatically scheduled for hearing?

VCAT staff will manually schedule your application - normally within one business day of lodgement. You will then be able to view the scheduled hearing details via VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub.

What can I do if my application must be accompanied by other documents?

The VCAT rules allow you to submit the application and bring the documents to the hearing.

How long is the Notice information held on VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub?

VCAT Residential Tenancies Hub Notices which have been used ito make an application will be held indefinitely. All other notices will be discarded 4 months after the expiry date.
